Getting started

Read a cited answer

A Lanternfish answer is a short list of sentences, and every sentence ends with one or more numbered receipts. A receipt links to the exact passage the sentence was built from: a paragraph in a document, a message in a thread or a field in a ticket.

Hover over a receipt to see a preview with the source name, who last edited it and when. Select it to open the original in a side panel with the matching passage highlighted. Nothing is copied out of your tools. The panel shows the live document you already have access to.

Check an answer in four steps

  1. Read the answer once, then select the first receipt.

  2. Compare the highlighted passage with the sentence. The numbers and names should match.

  3. Check the source date in the preview. Older sources are marked with a small clock.

  4. If a sentence looks wrong, choose Report on it and pick what is off. Reports go to your workspace admins, not to us.

Sentences without a receipt are marked as inferences. Lanternfish adds them only to connect two sourced facts, and you should treat them as suggestions rather than answers.
