Lanternfish never gives anyone more access than they already have. When you ask a question, the search runs as you: it can only read documents, channels and tickets that you can open in the original tool.
To do this, each connector copies the access rules of the original source along with its content. Every item is stored with the list of people and groups allowed to see it, and that list is checked every time an answer is built, not just when the item is first read.
Two people asking the same question can get different answers if they can open different sources.
Removing someone from a Slack channel or a shared drive removes it from their answers within about ten minutes.
Admins can manage connectors but cannot read content they could not already open themselves.
Answers shared in a thread or Monday brief only contain sources every recipient can open.
Your content is not used to train models, ours or anyone else’s. It is stored encrypted at rest, and you can disconnect a source at any time to delete everything Lanternfish has read from it.
